The mural consists of three depictions of experiences that can happen in psychotherapy. Psychological states are playfully implied with symbols and diagram conventions borrowed from structural geology, cartography, and astronomy. the light source in the murals is emanating from the interior, suggestive of internal space. As you walk into the area from right to left: a. Tectonic Reconfiguration refers to the psychological shifts that can happen that create new bedrock, laying the foundation for major changes. b. Exploratory Research alludes to the process of internal examination and review, or what might be called excavating the depths of the psyche. c. Coalescence refers to chaotic elements of the unknown charters of the self merging to form a new and cohesive structure.
